An 11-acre mixed-use asset with shopping, dining, entertainment, office, and more, all in one vibrant, connected location. Did we mention the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati views? Oh, and a vacant IMAX theatre ripe for the taking. Enter Newport on the Levee (the Levee).

THE ASK

We are thinking BIG, dreaming about the art of the possible, and seeking talent to help us reimagine this eerily quiet, 23-year-old auditorium into a permanent digital exhibition.

THE REWARD

In 2018, North American Properties (NAP) acquired the Levee and completely overhauled it, unveiling new community-driven amenities in May 2021. Since then, we’ve continued reinventing the iconic property and signed deals with 20 new brands, including 16 Lots Southern Outpost, Amador Cuban Restaurant & Rum Bar, Immersive Gamebox, Shiners on the Levee, and Uber Freight, just to name a few. Now is the time to capitalize and hitch your wagon to a comeback story like no other. Who doesn’t love an underdog? 

We envision this project as an opportunity to collaborate with local creators by presenting the theatre as a testing ground, event space, host to rotating immersive experiences like Van Gogh and Harry Potter, or a dedicated enclave for mixed-media artists like Refik Anadol to showcase their works. We’re also open to exploring ideas with the experts. 

Our team truly believes transforming this old, rundown theatre into a canvas for artists to experiment would not only solidify the Levee’s reputation as an entertainment destination, but also further elevate NKY as one of the “Best Places to Travel,” as named by Conde Nast Traveler in late 2022, all the while supporting local innovators.
